Christmas, the time of year celebrated in different parts of the world where we eat and drink waaay too much swapping prezzies and catching up with Framily and friends usually wearing a Christmas costume, santa hat, reindeer ears or that silly paper thing that supposedly resembles some sort of crown, that falls out of the Christmas bonbon you’ve just wrestled with your sibling or mate. It’s no different to how we celebrate it, except here in Australia, we miss out on the white snowy Christmas, instead we have the hot sun beating down on us in the back yard with a poor old relative completely melting whilst cooking the BBQ food for everyone.
So rather than sending dad or gramps to an early grave from overheating underneath that heavy Santa suit and beard, we have improvised with a fab collection of Aussie Summer Christmas Costumes. We have kept all of the favourites but summer-ised them. You can still be Santa or Mrs Clause, a Santa’s Helper Elf or a Gingerbread man/lady. Perhaps going as a Christmas Tree takes your fancy. Whichever you decide to be, you’ll stay nice n cool, and look just as great! Check out these looks below.
If you want to really shine and stand out from the crowd, you’ll be sparkling, with the Aussie summer sunshine reflecting off of you by wearing these awesome Christmas sequinned dresses and singlets. Team them up with whatever Christmas accessories you like…gloves, hats, above the knee socks or some shiny metallic leggings, and look the part without your makeup melting off. The sequins are on the front only, making it comfortable for you to sit down without sequins scratching your legs. This also enables the garmnet to stretch to various sizes. Loving the Elf singlet dress!
Look Christmassy without the whole costume get up.
If you feel that dressing up in a complete Christmas Costume just isn’t your vibe, then we have some bits and pieces you can wear to help you fit the brief. There’s silly Christmas hats, Flashing Santa hats and plenty of Elf accessories, in fact we have EVERYTHING Elf. Elf hats, Elf boots, Elf ears, Elf socks, Elf tutus. even Elf T-Shirts. A set of light up Reindeer antlers and a nose will do the trick too.
But remember, Melbourne’s weather can be ridiculously unpredictable, so in case it feels like you’ve just woken up in the North Pole, (stranger things have happened) we have the traditional versions of these Christmas costumes, such as Santa in his wintry North-pole outfit with Mrs Clause, of course and his little green Elf helpers. It wouldn’t be Christmas without these iconic Christmas costumes and characters.
